Chef's Choice M840 WafflePro Express Waffle Maker, Traditional Five of Hearts Reviews

Waffles are one of the favorites of mine from my childhood. I bought a waffle iron years ago and had a lot of problems with it sticking and just turning out bad waffles. I've been hesitant to buy one since then. After reading all the good reviews, I finally bought one and I am thrilled. For a novice waffle maker, I was making great waffles in five minutes. No problem sticking and the waffles were beautiful. I was making them too fast for everyone to keep up with them. There was a pleasant little couple of beeps to let you know it was ready. br /br /I loved the heart shapes, but there is something to consider in that there are five sections instead of four as in the round waffle maker. That means the sections are pretty small. It's a little tricky toasting them again if you freeze them as the size is a bit awkward. (And they do taste just as great toasted as when they come fresh out of the waffle iron.)br /br /A trick that I read is that you can keep them in a 200 degree oven separated on the racks, if you want to keep them warm and serve all at once. Just putting them on a wire rack afterwards for about 20 seconds will keep them from steaming on the plate and loosing the crispness. Make sure you have a plastic knife or something similar to get your waffle out, as you don't want to damage the non-stick coating.br /br /Play around with the levels and the two controls - crispy outside, light inside/ or evenly cooked throughout. I prefer pretty crispy waffles, so I found I actually liked the evenly cooked option, but most will probably prefer to take the crispy outside, light inside option and play with the different levels for breakfast waffles.br /br /

Perfect present for Mom. - C. Kolk - White Lake, MI
I made waffles with this iron and my mother loved them so much that she asked me for one for Christmas! I have even recommended this iron to folks shopping for a waffle iron in the store. We use this waffle iron almost every other weekend for amazing waffles. Cooks Illustrated recommended it and they haven't been wrong yet.

Cheap paint, great waffles - Stephanie Wilsen - Massachusetts
This waffle maker makes great waffles, but on the first day I used it, the white letters / labels ("baking", "ready", etc.) all smeared when I went to clean it with a damp paper towel. Now I have to guess at the waffle texture, too. Cheap paint on a good product. Hopefully they'll fire the paint supplier and replace my waffle maker with one that's worth the money.

The previous reviews cover it all and I offer one first time use caveat. Do not expect the first set of waffles to be what you might expect of this iron. My first set of waffles was a pure disaster. I was ready to box the waffler and send it back but patience ruled my anger. Let's do it again. This is somewhat bazaar but after spraying the surfaces and following the directions again the next batch and those that have followed were perfect. Now we are testing the ability of the waffler to withstand a whole bunch of use and gaining weight at the same time. I probably should be one of those who might a product low rating because of gaining weight. Not this time. My spouse and I can say nothing bad about this machine. When two different folks can take the ingredients and mix them up a tad and cook them into a full taste waffle then I am fully satisfied. The test of time will be the only remaining delimiter. Oh, before I forget. Do not plan for the process to take just a few minutes. Devote at least an hour and maybe more depending you Mr. or Mrs. Monk coefficient.

Good Waffle Maker - Peety3 -
I have been happy with the waffles the iron produces. My only complaint is that I wish the plates would come off for easier cleaning.

Cuisinart Belgian Waffle Maker - Jenna -
We registered for this waffle maker as a wedding gift! We've used it every Sunday since it was given to us. We simply love fresh blueberry waffles! The product is easy to use and the book does come with some easy recipes. The only downfall of this product is that it is tedious to clean. The plates are non-removable making it difficult to get a good scrub. Otherwise, we will continue to use it on a regular basis.

Proctor-Silex 26500 Morning Baker Belgian Waffle Baker

Proctor-Silex 26500 Morning Baker Belgian Waffle Baker Reviews

We bought this waffle maker recently and it functions very well. It has deep wells for the batter and cooks the waffles crisply and evenly on the outside without overcooking the interior.br /br /For this iron would be hard to beat.br /br /Here are some caveats that we've learned so far:br /br /1) It takes 6-7 minutes per waffle so if you're cooking for an entire family, this is probably not the waffle maker for you - get one with more griddle area. One waffle from this maker is about right for one medium-hungry eater.br /2) When cooking a waffle from room-temperature batter, the "pre-heat" light will go off about 5 min into cooking. It seems that the correct cooking time for a waffle is 30-90 sec after this light goes off. We just use a timer for 6 min and that seems to work for our recipe.br /2a) For refrigerator temperature batter, the light goes off just about when the waffle is ready.br /3) After removing a finished waffle, let the pre-heat light turn off again before cooking the next waffle (the instructions say this and it matters).br /br /For 2-3 people this waffle iron works great and I'd recommend it.

Proctor-Silex 26500 Morning Baker Belgian Waffle Baker Feature

  • Quick and easy to use waffle iron
  • Nonstick grilling surface
  • Preheat/Ready indicator
  • Compact, easy storage
  • 11-1/4 inches long by 8-1/5 inches wide by 4-1/4 inches high
We've all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But too often we grab the easiest thing available instead of something with real nutritional value and flavor. Waffles, especially when made with whole-grain flour, are an extremely easy way to start the day on the right foot. The Morning Baker Belgian waffle iron takes the edge off morning hunger. It heats quickly, lets you know when it's ready, and cooks waffles in only a few minutes--take that time to slice some fruit to top them with. Cleaning up is easy, too, since the nonstick grilling surface wipes clean with a damp sponge or paper towel. The whole iron can be stored either horizontally or vertically, depending on space limitations. I--Julija Gelazis/I Model number on packaging may be listed as either 26500 or 26050Y. Product is identical.

Waffle Baker Review - tcpiii -
Having used other brands in the past and including older Proctor-Silex models I was a little skeptical of all the good reviews. However I decided to listen to those who had purchased this item and try it myself. After all the price wasn't bad. Well I received the unit on a Friday. That Saturday morning I opened the package and cleaned the unit per instructions. I went through the little cookbook that came with the baker and decided to go and make my personal favourite waffles, a banana nut waffle. The Baker did a great job of making it crispy on the outside and dreamy on the inside. Just be sure to watch the amount of steam leaving the baker to determine how done the waffle is instead of the light. After having my breakfast I found the cleanup went very easily. I recommend this unit very highly.

Good Buy - M. F. Begley - SC
After reviewing several Belgian waffle bakers, I decided on the Proctor-Silex 26500.br / I am quite happy so far with my choice tho I have only used it two times. It makes very good Belgian waffles; crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Waffle Baker cleans quite easily with wipes of a paper towel. As you know waffle bakers can be difficult to clean. That's why I chose a non-stick one. I will always get a non-stick one from now on. No more dreading the cleaning chore and then the re-oiling and throwing away the first waffle. That experience alone used to keep me from making Belgian waffles. br / Storage is easy and compact since it stands on its side.br / I would def. recommend this Waffle Baker to all.
